NNRMS Standing Committees :

The Planning Committee of NNRMS (PC-NNRMS) as the apex body provides the overall guidelines for implementation of NNRMS objectives & goals and oversees the progress of remote sensing applications. The technical and programmatic activities of NNRMS are coordinated through NNRMS Standing Committees.

These Standing Committees are established in the respective ministries/departments of the Government of India includes experts from major user departments/agencies and are led by the respective Secretaries in general except in the case of Standing Committee on Cartography & Mapping (SC-C) where Chaired by Surveyor General, SOI.

The 9 Standing Committees of NNRMS include:

Agriculture & Soils, Chaired by Secretary, Agriculture and Cooperation with members from Ministry of Textiles, ICAR, Planning Commission, State Agricultural Directorates, IMD, DOS etc.

Bio-resources & Environment, Chaired by Secretary, Forests and Environment with members from FSI, Department of Agriculture, State Forest Departments, DOS etc.

Cartography & Mapping Chaired by Surveyor General of India with members from NATMO, Institute of Remote Sensing , GSI, Ministry of Defence, NIC, Eicher Goodearth Limited, NBSS&LUP, Planning Commission, DOS, etc.

Geology & Mineral Resources, Chaired by Secretary, Mines and with members from GSI, ONGC, AMD, State Geology departments, CGWB, IBM, Coal India Limited, NGRI, Planning Commission, DOS etc.

Ocean Resources & Meteorology , Chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences and with members from IMD, FSI, NIO, ICAR, Planning Commission, GSI, IITM, DOS etc.

Rural Development, Chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development with members from DAC, ICAR, CWC, NIRD, DST, SOI, MOEn&F, NABARD, CAPART, Planning Commission, DOS, etc.

Training & Technology, Chaired by Secretary, Department of Space with members from DOEd, DST, NIC, GSI, NIO, Planning Commission, NCERT, ICAR, UGC, FRI, AICTE, DOS etc.

Urban Management, Chaired by Secretary, Ministry of urban Development with Members from TCPO, NCR-PB, MMRDA, CMDA, BMRDA, Town and Country Planning Department, Delhi Development Authority, SOI, Eicher Goodearth Limited, Planning Commission, DOS, etc.

Water Resources, Chaired by Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources with members from CWC, CGWB, NIH, Planning Commission, MOA, IMD, SOI, River Valley Authorities, DOS etc.
